After a month away we are back racing next weekend, with an outstanding showing of formulas and car numbers providing top quality entertainment over TWO DAYS! Sunday sees the return of UNLIMITED NATIONAL BANGERS!

You wanted it, we give you it. A huge £2000 prize pot is up for grabs for the national bangers, who are bound to bring some Thunder back to the Hills.

We also see some of the very best non contact racing through our Special Rods, who last time out really set a light the meeting, as well as our future starts, with the Junior Rods demonstrating their ever developing skills.

Monday sees the return of F2 stockcars, with home favourites 522 Chris Mikulla and 935 Leading the booking list, as well as distance traveller 761 Richard Bowyer and the comeback kid 676 Neil Hooper. The two South West Superstars 127 Matt Stoneman and 542 Steven Gilbert will also be demonstrating, their deserved flashing lights.

We also have our bangers racing on the monday, providing top notch nudge and spin racing, countered by the fast hard racing provided by the Hot Rods, where we see last years top 4 batlling away once again. Finally, the reason for one of our favourite meetings of the year, the Robin's Caravan Carnage will be our last race of the day following after a top day of Robin entertainment, where we see an additional 13 drivers racing this meeting!

We will see you next weekend!

Cheers 'n' Gone

Also in attendance are the points leader 362 Johnny James who will be looking to add to his tally.

Last meeting 252 Boogie had a very impressive showing, flying up the points list- Also in attendance today. The DD sees a wonderful trophy returned to the track to be won, the Jim Beasant Memorial will be presented by The Cheddar Headers team. Get ready, it'll be actionpacked, as Full Fat Bangers are back!

SPECIAL RODS

28 Cars for our highest populated non contact formula, who as always bring us the finest side by side racing in the country. Regrading has occured in which we see Heat and Final winner 244 Dale Edwards up to red, with neice 224 Jordan Edwards graded blue for the first tim in her Special Rod career. Last meeting we also saw a heat win for 41 Dene Howard who was very unfortunate to be involved in a crash whilst going for the heat 3 lead, in the remaining heat it was Ben Brice (701) and Will Harraway (7) took advantage of the scrap at the front of the field. This meeting we see the long awaited debut of the BMW body shell in to the formula from 192 Ash Raymond.

JUNIOR RODS

A third outing for the 11-16 year olds, and a regrading has happened seeing 75 Jack Buckingham reach Superstar, as well as Top performer this season 100 Thomas Weeks up to red along with 29 Jasz McArdle. Also a shoutout to 30 Finlay Holloway and 236 Alfie Brimble, in their first ever Grading Period are up to Blue with 8 George Jenkins, last meetings start performer.

Last meeting George Jenkins (8) took a faultless flag to flag double, driving impressively in the greasy conditions. In the other heat, Tom Weeks (100) took another win. It was the final that saw 190 Euan Gumbleton take the flag after 77 Jacob Filer was docked with 36 Josh Weare taking 3rd.

With the new grades we're sure to see some top racing from the drivers of the future.

BriSCA F2

Meeting 2 in the golden year for the F2’s and another opportunity for a few drivers to play at the 2018 World Venue.

May sees the first regrading of the year and the highlights being Matt Stoneman (127) and Steven Gilbert (542) both reaching the dizzy heights of superstar and being one of the top 6 drivers in the country. Heat winner last time Sam Weston (468) sees red again as he is upgraded. Former track champion Neil Hooper (676) has made a comeback and has ruffled a few feathers!

Going the other way sees recent Mendips final winners Paul Rice (890) and Ben Goddard (895) drop to yellow. Black Country duo Adam Rubery (700) and Richard Bowyer (761) have dropped to blue, and both are rapid around here.

BANGERS

The last bank holiday saw the domestic bangers broke their duck for the season, and Junior Rod graduate Cameron McColm (134) was the star of the show, even if the results didn’t really show. He led 3 races quite convincingly, but he got caught up in everyone else’s trouble, winning the consolation but finishing the final on his roof. He will certainly be looking to make amends.

Jake Bond (743) and Mortimor (668) took wins in the heats, but it was Alex Jenner (100) took the top honours

HOT RODS

An impressive showing of Hot Rods for the openerand a marked improvement on previous showings as 11 cars turned out for the annual CWS Mears Trophy. The first race was won by Steve Hunt (282) in his new ex John Wolsesey National Hot Rod. Come the second race it became a battle royale between the two adversaries Colin White (718) and James Griggs (258). It was Griggs who took full advantage of the back markers to take the victory from White, in one of the closest races for some time. Come the final it was Griggs and White again who led away, and towards the end, Mark Shelper (788) and Hunt who joined. However, White was not to be beaten this time and another fine win.

This meeting sees 611 Jamie Bryant make his first appearance this year, as well as current Special Rod points Champion, 426 Russ Colenutt who has taken a new challenge in the Hot Rod class. 12 cars booked for this one!

ROBINS
Now the robin reliants are the very definition of Mayday Madness. After a poor showing last time out, we hope to have more than 5 cars, where the Worthingtons Cliff (437) and Andrew (504) shared the spoils.

The action to be thick and fast this time, with the crowning glory a frenzy of fibreglass, as Robin meets Caravan in a race of limited stability. There also might be some poorly pitched Caravans to get involved.

A high of 18 cars now booked in!

Both meetings start at 1pm…be there!!!!

Next time sees the Whitsun Weekend -the Unlimited Old Skool Banger World Final, F2’s and Junior Rods on the Sunday and the Monday sees Special and Hot Rods play support to Unlimited B2B and Robins on Crazy Day!
