Bangers Down West 2L National Bangers (WQR), Junior Rods & Heritage F2's

The season opener is this Sunday March 23rd and , a new season here at Mendips on what promises to be another cracker of a seasons of hard and fast race action. We get under way with a spot of crashing in the bangers, and racing with the young and old with the Juniors and the Heritage.

BANGERS

The Bangerak and commentator, and driver of no repute, Jamie Waller-Jones is supporting this meeting with his “Bangers Down West” moniker, usually with the cars getting the action being of the 2 litre variety, so expect a parade of Focus and Mondeos meeting their maker. A wildcard into the big one in September is on offer for the best entertainer. 

JUNIOR RODS

Another year with the stars of the future as the 11 to 16 year olds take to the track to learn their craft. With a lot of the top drivers from last year hitting the top age bracket, with TEN new drivers at the recent practice day – things are looking rather good for the Juniors

BRISCA HERITAGE

In a complete opposite to the previous formula, it’s the old jalopies of the BriSCA Heritage cars from the very beginning of the sport, some old, some replicas which would have raced here back at the opening of this track back in 1969. Drivers are of a vintage too – some of which drove in that opening meeting!

Action gets underway at 1pm…..
