Scott Weldon

January 31st

Scott is now back at Poole General Hospital, much closer to his family and friends. His surgeon has advised that his X rays do show quite a lot of damage to both feet, and it could be a long time before any repair surgery can be carried out. He is still very positive, and looking to the future.

Popular veteran Banger star Scott Weldon(517) is in Taunton Hospital with serious leg injuries after a heavy crash at the Winter Open meeting at Smeatharpe Stadium, Taunton. He managed to get out of his car after hitting the safety barrier during the first laps of the meeting Final, but medical personnel were called to assist him, and he was taken by ambulance to hospital. It was reported last night that he had broken both his ankles. Scott, 45, has had a long and successful career, as part of the Warlords racing team, and had recently returned from a winter vacation in Australia, visitng his brother.

We wish him all the best for a complete recovery, and hope he will be back at wheel soon.

January 28th

Having visited Scott in hospital yesterday, we can confirm that he is in good spirits, and not at all bitter about what has happened, as you can well imagine. He accepts it as the risks of racing, and is looking forward to his return later in the year. Due to swelling, there will be no operations on his ankles or feet for three weeks, and it is likely that he will be returning nearer to home, to Poole hospital, when a bed is available. Scott is genuinely overwhelmed by the goodwill messages that he has received, and will continue to do so, no doubt.
